I’m living in a five story mansion. The first level is full of living areas and kitchens, places to eat, etc The second and third level are mostly bedrooms and offices, maybe a library But the last two levels are attics and are used for storage The first attic is a typical attic with old paintings and chairs, worn out couches, all that jazz. It’s a little creepy, as attics are, but only if you’re alone. Maids sometimes come up here to grab something if they’re setting up a room, but mostly kids like me hang out up there and do teenager stuff But always, eventually everyone leaves and it’s just me walking around the first attic. I know not to go to the second one, and that door is closed. But then I’ll go into a different door in the attic, one that i’ve “never noticed before” (while my brain is kicking and screaming bc it knows what happens next) When I open the door, there’s a little jump to get in. Maybe there used to be a step, but it’s been removed. It looks like a laundry room. It’s a plain little room, with ljust the machines and some old tin buckets. But then the door closes behind me and I can’t leave. Now that I’m trapped, a blue light appears on the side of the room opposite the machines. (again my brain hates this part and sometimes wakes up here, but sometimes it doesn’t and this happens) I follow the light and I’m in a clinically bright white hallway. I hear the voice of a woman, but I can’t see her or anything except the hallway. Scared, I start to run. The hallway melts away and I’m in my house again. I find my parents but there’s just something wrong. When I realize that I’m in the fifth floor attic, it’s almost too late. Everything is fake and nothing is safe. The attic has already figured me out and knows exactly how to trick me. And I’ve never made it past here, because I never leave the second attic.
Dreams that involve houses often symbolize the self, with different levels representing various aspects of your consciousness and experiences. In your dream, the five-story mansion may reflect your personal journey, emotions, or life circumstances. Let's break it down further:

Parental Figures and Fake Reality:
This dream may reflect your journey through self-discovery and the complexities of your inner world. It could denote fears of facing deeper issues in your life or aspects of yourself that you feel are harder to confront. The trapped feeling in the attic and the sense that everything is fake might indicate a looming realization that some aspects of your life, or your understanding of it, are illusions or overly idealized.
The repeated cycle of not moving past the second attic could symbolize a reluctance to address certain feelings or situations in your life. Ultimately, this dream urges you to confront your fears and the stages of your life that you may be hesitant to explore deeply. It might be helpful to reflect on what you feel held back by in your waking life, and what steps you might take toward more authentic experiences and understanding.
